Hi, my name is Samantha, and I’ve lived in Stuart for ten years. Currently I reside in Port St Lucie but I do go back there quite often.
All my life in Stuart I thought there was really nothing there to do, can someone please prove me wrong?!

"Treat your feet at Tootsies Shoe Store & Pedicure Salon. A dream come true. Affordable & adorable! Appointments and walk-ins are welcome. Gift certificates and pedicure parties are also available."

Not entirely sure if you would consider this a NEW store, but I believe it was just recently added. Not quite sure.

But if you guys really love shoes and pedicures, I highly recommend it. It's a nice place with really good deals and really friendly workers.

hi, i'm Katy, just moved to stuart. i lived in boynton my whole life, then orlando for the last year, and moved to stuart last week to live with my boyfriend. he's been giving me the stuart experience in the 2 years we've been together long distance (mary's gourmet kitchen, the triangle, etc) but neither of us knows of anyplace good to get a hair cut. realisitically, i suppose i could just haul my ass down to west palm and go to my old place, but i'm curious if there's anywhere to get a good, shaggy, typical scenester haircut. yes, i am fully willing to admit that this is what a strive for.

any help would be much appreciated.

oh, and if anyone knows of places looking for super talented receptionists, that would be sweet too. i am jobless right now, and not digging the whole housewife vibe.

Last call for Stuart's Triangle Bar
12:42am 01/02/2006

January 31, 2006
STUART — People from all walks of life took the path to the Triangle.

During its early days, there came cattle ranchers, dairy farmers and fishermen from Port Salerno. The cowboys, they would get there on horseback.
Customers are different these days, says Joe "Ned" Kenna, who has run and owned the downtown bar since 1978.
They're attorneys milling around the liquor store. Or busy contractors striking deals on the 43-stool bar top.
But now a chapter on the storied Triangle is closing.
Earlier this month, the Triangle and the tiny downtown block it sits on sold for about $5.6 million, according to county records.

"It's the location more than anything else," said Alvin Hunter, one of the former property owners who, at 81, is retiring after selling the site of his Hunter Auto Supplies. "We're the first ones you see when you come off U.S. 1."
Perhaps the high purchase price is intended to match the site's high visibility.
The new owner — listed as Jensen Beach-based Harmony Ventures LLC — plunked down $2 million for the 35-year-old bar, for instance, which faces Dixie Highway and the historic downtown.

"They just made an offer you couldn't refuse," said Kenna, 66. "It was our time to go."
Now it's time for an overhaul.
Though plans for the site have not been finalized, Mark Flomenhoft, head of Harmony Ventures, said a new project is in the property's future.
"I could anticipate it would be a mixed-use multistory building taking advantage of the river views," Flomenhoft said.
Mixed-use buildings — like the four-story Sterling Mortgage building neighbor to the Harmony properties — typically combine shops and offices in lower stories with condos or apartments on its top floors.

Flomenhoft also hinted that his company could flip the property to a new buyer.
"It will be redeveloped," he said. "But it may end up being another party that does the redevelopment."
In the meantime, businesses on the block off the train tracks have been encouraged to stay on as long as project plans wait for city approval.
As for Kenna, he hopes to remain open for another year and then close what has become a local landmark.
For years, Stuart Commissioners would walk across from City Hall for evening drinks, he said. Others followed, but Kenna has kept mum on who his clients have been and what they've said inside the smoke-filled joint.

"I don't like telling people," he said. "It's like confession for a priest."
Now, customers are gathering to discuss where to go after the Triangle. It could be hard to replace.
"This is really the last of the old-style bar and grills left," Kenna said. "It's a one-of-a-kind."

08:05am 10/01/2005
Hey I just found this lj community. Hi I'm Kylee. I've lived in the 772 area for most of my life (since 1986). Well first it was 407, then 561, and then while I've been living in the 352 (Gainesville) it became 772. Some of my fav childhood memories in the 772 were at Langford Park (site of first kiss when I lived in Rio), Stuart Skateway (first date w/ first boyfriend and way rad birthday parties), the Treasure Coast Mall (when I went to Stuart Middle/PSL High), and Jensen Beach (great days and nites there), oh and I can't leave out Barnes & Noble or (non-super) Wal*Mart of course. These were all great when I was a kid, but now I'm kinda dreading moving back once I graduate this summer from UF. I'll be communting down south for Grad School at FAU, but still I think that moving back to 772 will make me crazy. Anyhow, hi.
